MRI Laboratory

-Assist in starting up a new lab at Stony Brook University by identifying and networking with potential collaborators, formulating research topics and carrying out viable projects.

-Perform literature searches on a variety of neural networks in functional MRI studies.

-Preprocess and analyze data from DTI, resting state fMRI and MRS acquisitions.

-Attend weekly meetings where the lab discusses progress from the past week and future directions.

 

Optogenetics Laboratory

January 2014-May 2014

Stony Brook University

-Design, compile and edit MS Excel data sheets.

-Gather and organize existing information in the field of optogenetics as part of a literature search

-Formulate an experiment determining how Purkinje cells, atrial cells and ventricular cells respond differently to irradiance levels.

 

CUBIT Laboratory

September 2014-May 2016

-Compile and edit plasma sheets using MS Excel.

-Perform image analysis on cerebral MRI images, including crop-mask editing and image realignment, using various softwares such as MATLAB, FSLView and ArtRepair.

-Organize and design MS word documents with diffusion tensor images after editing and repairing them.

Gather information in the field of neurology and depression, especially studies using MR Spectroscopy.

-Gather information about volume estimation in MRI images for patients undergoing Lithium therapy.

-Assist in writing a peer-reviewed journal article on DTI and psychological disorders.

-Assist in carrying out a research project on DTI and psychological disorders.

-Perform statistical analysis on DTI and PET data using MATLAB.

 

Stony Brook Hospital Radiology Department

August 2015-May 2016

Stony Brook University

-Assist in performing Quality Assurance (QA) on medical imaging equipment.

-Interpret, update and assess QA sheets, typically in MS Excel format.

-Become familiar with Stony Brook Hospital and how it operates on an internal level.

-Understand how daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual QA is carried out on various diagnostic imaging equipment and what measures to take if problems are found.

 

Super-Resolution Optical Microscopy Lab

May 2016- September 2016

Stony Brook University

-Work a paid internship under the Stony Brook University Research Foundation.

-Become familiar with cutting edge optical microscopy techniques, such as wide field-of-view (FOV) and super-resolution microscopy.

-Develop algorithms in MATLAB for microscopy simulation and 3D image modeling.

-Formulate a research assignment for developing a 3D, wide FOV, super-resolution microscopy technique.
