Hello! My name is Arani Nirmalan and I’m a first year master’s student at Stony Brook University. I am interested in cultivating exciting, affordable, and sustainable solutions for biomedical problems. Being patient-centered is one of my largest motivations in the field and I think when we lose sight of the patient, we haven’t solved the problem. I have a special interest in nanotechnology and biomaterials, as well as interest in tissue engineering.
Outside of biomedical engineering, I am interested in intersectional feminist theory, organization, and cooking. I currently work with Campus Residences as a graduate assistant.
