Project 6-Final Project-BOSNY

Unphotographable

Compared to the fun souls of my friends who are usually unphotographed.
I think my deepest unphotographable was last year in California. It was my first trip since the pandemic and I went to Los Angeles with my friends three days early for a flight back China. After the covid test was done and all the necessary documentation was completed, my friend and I went to Santa Monica in the second day. I don’t know if it’s because I love the beach or because I’ve been cooped up for a year and haven’t seen the outside world. That day in Los Angeles shone in my heart. Because I had so much luggage back home that I didn’t take my camera for this journey. I saw California sycamore trees reflected orange in the setting sun of Santa Monica, saw California beach reflected dazzling stars. I was deeply moved at that moment. Because I was touched, I made a video call to my parents, but I found that some scenery photos or videos could not shock people who were not present. Because of this unphotographable, or can not be captured beauty, makes me want to go back to L.A. a million times.

Proposal

My inspiration came from the Landscape section of the LenScratch website. I saw many mountains and rivers all over the world. I want to collect photos of the sea, collect the romance of the sea from dawn to dusk.I saw a photographer named Jeffrey Milstein, whose series was called LANY because Los Angels and New York were the two cities touched him most. He made connections between California and New York through different landscapes at the same time. I also wanted to express the characteristics of different places through different seascapes at the same time.
My photo series will all come from the sea, the sea in Boston and the sea in New York.
