One way in which media has brought positive impacts to our lives is the preservation of culture and art through the documentation due to such media. Being able to take a picture of a memory have having that frozen in time through an image can help to rebuild the story of our history and can help to teach the future about the historical events that may have occurred. The problem with this, though, is how the media is recorded. Media being recorded can be interpreted differently depending on the person who is recording and the intent that which they are recording such events. Many times, there can be misunderstandings that may occur, which could either ruin the meaning behind the photograph or video. For example, due to the effects of Photoshop, you can alter the composition of photos. In terms of modelling companies, if the company modifies an image of a model, this could be taken in a different way in which the company might not like the model’s body and tries to make the look “better” despite it no longer being in the range of the magazine’s target audience or it can even put down people who may be reading those magazines trying to make their bodies more similar to those in the magazines.
