Tying together Art, Biology, and Engineering, the creation of prosthetics becomes an engineering art that imitates biology which can assist people and even animals in their daily lives. Unfortunately, as prosthetics become more technologically advanced, the costs of the prosthetics becomes increasingly more expensive with an upwards of about $200,000.
David Aguilar is an inventor with Poland Syndrome whose right forearm and pectoral muscles didn’t fully develop. To combat the lack of access to prosthetics due to costs and the lack of customization, Aguilar started creating prosthetics using lego pieces.
