Subject: Potential Actuarial Position

 

Dear Sir or Madam

 

I am a student attending Stony Brook University who plans on becoming an actuary. After attending many of your information sessions, it seems as if there are quite a few positions where an actuary seems essential and I believe I can fill that position.

 

As an actuary, I plan on becoming an integral part of your organization. My mathematical and statistical skills are top notch given the amount of math courses I have taken. Although I am still taking the actuarial exams at this time, I should have a few more complete by the time I am hired. I’m even a member of the Order of Actuarial Students, who help potential actuaries like myself reach our goals.

 

I also have great leadership and people skills. As an Eagle Scout, I have experience leading a group of people to complete a project and have involved both adults and children in these endeavors. My people skills are also well known given my continuous communications with the scouting community and my schools’ communities.
