Meet the Staff

picture-161-1391544516Debbie Zelizer, Program Faculty Director

Debbie Zelizer is program director of the Health Science major in the School of Health Technology and Management at Stony Brook University. She is also an alumna of the School of Social Welfare where she received a master’s degree in social work.

Prior to joining the Health Science major, Professor Zelizer was involved in the field of HIV/AIDS for fifteen years. She provided extensive education and training to health and human service providers on Long Island regarding the behavioral and social aspects of health. Professor Zelizer has presented nationally and internationally on topics such as allied health education, HIV/AIDS testing, and addictions treatment. In 2006, she was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to disseminate educational strategies nationally to alleviate allied health workforce shortages.

In 2008, she became faculty director of the Living Learning Center minor in Health and Wellness. The interdisciplinary minor is designed to give students a foundation in the concepts of healthy living and helps students select future studies or careers in the health professions.


Megan Johnson

Meg Johnson is the program coordinator for the Be Well program. Meg is the residence hall director of Schick College in Kelly quad.

Meg comes to Stony Brook from SUNY Cobleskill where she was a Residence Hall Director and was responsible for developing and implementing campus wide health and wellness programs. Meg attended SUNY Cortland where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Community Health, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Health degree through the University at Albany.

Angelina Storelli

Angelina Storelli, Assistant Program Coordinator

Angelina Storelli is the assistant Be Well academy coordinator. She is the Mendelsohn Quad Assistant and the Interim Residence Hall Director of Whitman College in Roth Quad.

Angelina is originally from a suburb near Rochester, New York. She earned her Bachelors degree in Social Work from Fredonia State University of New York . During her time at Fredonia State, Angelina served as a Resident Assistant. This experience provoked her desire to function as a Social Worker within the field of collegiate residential life. Currently, Angelina is pursing her Masters in Social Work with a certificate in Higher Education, she is excited to graduate and begin her career!
