According to the BMES Official Website, the mission of BMES is to:

“build and support the biomedical engineering community, locally, nationally and internationally, with activities designed to communicate recent advances, discoveries, and inventions; promote education and professional development; and integrate the perspectives of the academic, medical, governmental, and business sectors.”

Regarding the Stony Brook BMES Chapter, our ultimate goal is to promote biomedical engineering and cater to the needs of biomedical engineering on campus! We are a diverse student body involved in multiple tasks in serving Stony Brook University’s biomedical engineering population. These include, but are not limited to, fundraising for biomedical causes, running academic workshops such as auto-CAD, MATLAB, Arduino, etc,¬† promoting interest to biomedical engineering and STEM-related fields at local schools on Long Island, developing necessary skills for networking and professional development, and more!¬† Stony Brook’s chapter of BMES was founded in 1997.
