This project is important because neonatal asphyxia accounts for 20.9% of neonatal deaths (Chadha, 2010). Infants are delicate organisms, and so it is imperative that they receive good care quickly in order to stay healthy (Katheria, Rich, & Lakshminrusimha, 2019). Heart rate variability is a huge factor to consider when administering medical care, and is extremely prevalent in newborns (Javorka et al., 2017).

Our goal is to help doctors make the best decisions about what form of neonatal resuscitation treatment to give in the shortest amount of time.
