Improved Sensors:

  • The handle will be fitted with an accelerometer-actuator setup (similar to the Liftware’s design) which adapts and reacts to the tremors,  counteracting the movement and shakiness caused by them.
  • Improvements will be made to the sensor to allow for more accurate, minimalistic adjustments. 
    • The sensors will measure double the frequency of Liftware (doubles from 0-5 to 0-10 Hz)
  • The addition of a gyroscopic sensor would detect movement in other axial positions
    • Detects more tremors which leads to more precise detection

 

Solar Powered Battery

  • Environmentally friendly and efficient power source
    • The battery absorbs radiation from light energy and stores it
      • It can absorb radiation from the sun and artificial light
      • Passive charging
  • Amorphous Silicon will be used for the photovoltaic material as it costs less than crystalline silicon

 

Improved Handle

  • The utensil will handle will be a combination of a motorized system and a weighted handle
  • The utensil will have a large handle with flexibility for easier grip, and will weigh around 3-4 times more than the average utensil.
  • The weight and grip help minimize movement
  • The weighted handle will help dampen tremors so the sensors would be calibrated to detect small changes in movement
