VI. Design Diagram

Our goal is to design a game or device to improve the rate of success for hemiplegia patients to recover.These patients face challenges due to their limited limb use, muscle loss, and sensory decline, which lead to motor problems and fatigue during recovery.

Our solution is to design a device that combines existing theories to assist patients effectively and restore movement. The device needs to be engaging and easy to use. It comes with 3 parts. Part one is joints supporting the body, and easily operated with one hand which means it will have Exoskeleton structure. Part 2 combines mirror therapy, mental imagery, and electrical stimulation, and we utilized another technology as acupuncture. Therefore, acupoint electricity stimulation is used to assist muscles and movement. Since the personal customization, different rehabilitation game level and electrical stimulation level are programmed and using intelligent control panels. To further develop, the device will connect to VR games which Provide an immersive engaging environment. Device named as “NeuroAcouStic Rehab Aid device”.

In light of the technology and personalized design involved, the cost will be very high, we have to choose the lightweight and cost-effective material. it becomes imperative to ascertain the alignment of our new design with the stipulations outlined in the original proposal.

Due to the challenges of patient interaction with electroacupuncture and the goal of enabling at-home use, a distinct approach emerges. Initially, a medical professional oversees device operation. Depending on the severity of hemiplegia, either electrical stimulation or electroacupuncture is chosen. The subsequent step involves the second part, designed for in-home use. All aspects of electrical stimulation are thoughtfully pre-set. Tailoring this to the patient’s condition, a personalized treatment plan is integrated with VR-based rehabilitation exercises. Activation is as simple as pressing a button, empowering patients to partake in their prescribed therapy within the immersive VR environment.

In summation, our envisioned creation assumes the form of a detachable, full-body auxiliary device, effectively realizing the blueprint and validating the system. Carefully examining the design ensures that all parts fit together well and meet the planned goals. Thus, with steadfast determination, our mission is completed.
