Project 3 – Sleep

Hypnagogia

Hypnagogia/hɪpnəˈɡadʒɪa/ is the experience of the transitional state between wakefulness and sleeps in humans: the hypnagogic state of consciousness, during the onset of sleep. Mental phenomena that occur during this “threshold consciousness” phase include lucid thought, lucid dreaming, hallucinations, and sleep paralysis.

Hypnagogia is fairly common, although many individuals don’t even realize they’ve experienced it. For comparison, only about 5 percent of people experience hallucinations when they’re fully awake, but sleep hallucinations affect between one-fourth and one-third of people

It happens because of multiple reasons. Anxiety, over fatigue, chemicals that can make your brain excited. etc. Overall, it happens with high probability when people‘s brains and bodies in different active degree.

In my project, I’m trying to catch the feeling when people in the hypnagogic state – repeating sleep and awake, hard to identity truth and dream. This project is kind like a timeline when people have hypnagogia during sleeping.

Running – Adna Kadic
I’m running, in the words
I’m running, in night.
You’re running, through my mind
As I’m running, from the light.
The sad thing, with the night, it always brings the day,
Then no longer, I can fight, cause it lights my, bright.
Oh, this cause of action, soul, of mine.
No, it’s only lonesome, in, these times.
It will keep running, and falling, and searching, for it to fly away.
It’s never, dark enough, to make you disappear.
My dreams are never, real enough, to hide all fears.
Oh, this cause of action,  the soul, of mine.
Will never find it’s true, way out.
It will keep running, and falling, and searching, for spinning.
To move, that cold heart.
