Scenery Memories – Color with Memory
Scenery memory (or Episodic memory) is the memory of autobiographical events (times, places, associated emotions, and other contextual who, what, when, where, why knowledge) that can be explicitly stated or conjured. It is the collection of past personal experiences that occurred at a particular time and place. For example, if you are thinking about your childhood birthday party, you can not remember all of the details but you can remember how was your birthday cake looks like. If you see a tasty birthday cake, you can remember the birthday party in your childhood. The birthday cake is a signal which can lead the one back to their specific memory – the birthday party.
In my project, I draw five panels, the colors I applied on canvas are the color I saw which can lead me back to the specific memories below. The photo is also a symbol of memory. Those moments are important for me as well. Some of them make me feel enjoyable but some of them let me pain. Colors are signals to me to bring me back to I can not control the episodic memory, it is there, anything has a relationship with it is the signal to let me remember. But the color is the strongest one for me.
