Project Two
The idea of Alzheimer’s being unavoidable and incurable is not something that we think about everyday. Often times, I feel that we take our memories for granted, and it’s like the sentiment of “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone”. I wanted to gain a little perspective of what it’s like to experience memory loss, which most of us are lucky enough to have never gone through. For my project, I decided to take multiple photos and create a gif out of it using Photoshop. The gif represents the overall course of Alzheimer’s as things will start disappearing, until it’s totally forgotten. The initial frame shows a vibrant image but as each frame passes, bits of the photo (“memory”) gets dark and cut out. Using my own room gave a personal touch, to see my dorm slowly lose features that I know it to have.
