My hobby and passion in life is guitars. I own way too many guitars. I have been playing for almost ten years now and there probably has not been a single day that I have not picked one up and played for a few minutes. It is a grounding for me and it helps me digest a problem and I attribute my guitars to helping me the most get through graduate school.
With my father’s help, I have been a working with wood throughout my life and recently I began making my own guitars. Below it my custom built Stratocaster. I carved it out of swamp ash and finished it myself. This semester I have been working on making my own telecaster too (which I will show you when I finish).
A list of almost all the stringed instruments I own:
- Custom handmade Stratocaster (swampash body, maple neck with rolled fingerboard, vintage noiseless pickups with mid-boost circuit, phase toggle and bridge pickup bypass)
- 2008 Fender Classic 50s Stratocaster in surf green
- 2002 Fender Nashville Deluxe Telecaster
- 1973 Yamaha SG-30 (katsura wood body)
- 1969 Teisco (Japanese) Kimberly 4 pickup guitar
- Danelectro U2
- 1972 Gibson classical guitar
- 1964 Gibson Mandolin A2
- Deering Banjo
- Yamaha FG750S (I have repaired it a lot)
