SBCs
Those of you on the new Stony Brook Curriculum (SBC) should be aware that some classes fulfill multiple learning objectives. Here is a list of those classes.
Academic Success & Tutoring Center
In June 2012, Dr. Charles Robbins, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Dean of the Undergraduate Colleges, assembled a group of approximately twenty professional staff with the goal of identifying and addressing issues that impact student academic success. Through their work, this Academic Success Team was instrumental in developing the initiative of the Academic Success and Tutoring Center (ASTC).
In the fall of 2014, a physical location for the Center was identified and the ASTC established a home in the Psychology B building, room 120. This space hosts most of the day, evening, and weekend tutoring sessions as well as one-on-one Peer Academic Success Coaching meetings. Due to high demand, some tutoring sessions may also take place in classroom spaces throughout campus.
