I decided to take a spin on the typical self portrait this year and take all of my photographs via reflective surfaces. I decided to only take them in my room since it is the most intimate space related to my life. Each photo was taken on a surface that has a connection, meaning, or story in my life.

This photograph is take on the pins that I have on my world map. These three locations are places that I got to travel to while I did a semester abroad in Melbourne, Australia.

This photo allows a full visualization of my bedroom. I spent so much time decorating and designing my room with all my favorite things that it has turned into my own little sanctuary.

I inserted myself into the Beatles album because of the memories I have associated with it. My brother collections vinyl albums and one of my fondest memories with my brother is the day we went into the city to go record hunting and I bought some records that I liked but also matched my room. We then we supposed to walk 40 blocks to get to my mom’s store but my brother had bought so many albums we had to get a cab halfway since his bag was breaking.

This photo is taken on a cube table that I have in my room. I decided to take it here because it was one of the first pieces of furniture I got for my room when it was redecorated, and one of the first pieces of furniture I actually helped put together with my dad.

I of course had to take a photo with my camera because of how important photography is to me. However, the reasoning for where I placed my camera even though it might not seem like the best spot is because of all the polaroid in the background, which are now technically portraits as well.

My computer is super important to me because it represents all of my studies and hard work that I’ve put in to get where I am today. All my work has finally paid off since I will attending law school in the fall. Also my computer is also a sense of travel to me, you can’t see it but on the top of my laptop it is covered with stickers from lots of my travels.

Lastly, I actually wanted to place myself into a photograph that I have actually taken. This photograph was taken in Barcelona, Spain when I was in high school. This photograph now encompasses my two favorite things in the world: photography and travel.

Then as a side project I needed to take some professional portraits for law school, convocation, and a LinkdIn Profile. So off I went to set up the tripod and put my camera on a timer. Here were some of the portraits.
