John Budin, a psychiatrist living with Bipolar Disorder, will share his personal and professional story of practicing while working through his own mood disorder. MIC DLS: Learner Corpora: Construction and Explorations in Chinese and Related Languages by Dr. Hongyin Tao, Friday, April 7 at 4 pm on Zoom
In this talk, Dr. Tao will provide a brief overview of major works done in the field of corpus construction and corpus linguistics and describe some of the applications of learner corpora (LC) in teaching Chinese and other languages. He will also discuss some future directions in LC, focusing on both the challenges and payoffs of working with multimodal L2 corpora and investigations of interactional competence with a corpus linguistic approach.
