Managing Your Publications & Biosketches – ORCID and SCIENCV Workshop
University Libraries Present: Organizing and managing your publications, particularly for grant biosketches, can be a challenge. The ORCID project is an international effort to provide every scholarly author with a unique identifier. SciENcv is a tool from the NCBI that allows researchers to create and store biosketches specifically formatted for NIH and NSF grants, including an automated import function from ORCID. 2023 Recipient of the Rohlf Medal: Philipp Mitteröcker received his PhD from the University of Vienna. His contributions combine advances in the foundations of morphometric representations and inferences with applications across a great variety of examples in evolutionary and developmental biology, as well as bioanthropology. Join the Department of Computer Science as we welcome Andrew Childs, University of Maryland who will be delivering a lecture on, ‘Quantum Algorithms and the Power of Forgetting.’ Quantum computers can solve certain problems faster than classical computers. In particular, the “welded tree problem” provides an example of a black-box task that can be solved exponentially faster by a quantum walk than by any classic algorithm.
