Tai Chi on Zoom
Stony Brook Medicine’s next round of virtual Tai Chi workshops is scheduled to begin the week of July 15, 2024. Workshops are free and offered on Zoom, registration is required. Classes are led by a certified instructor; twice a week for 60 minutes for 10 weeks. This program uses the principles and movements of Tai Chi to help individuals improve their balance and increase their confidence in doing everyday activities. Classes are open to the community. Feel free to share with family/friends.

Free Stepping On Facilitator Training (evidence-based fall prevention program for older adults)
Stepping On is a researched program proven to help older people reduce their risk of falls and ultimately, increase their quality of life. The workshop is offered once a week for seven weeks in communities throughout the region. Participants gain specific knowledge and skills to prevent falls in community settings.If you are interested in committing to the 3 day Facilitator Training and then leading at least one workshop/year please consider applying.

The Program in Public Health has extended the deadline to apply!
The Program in Public Health is accepting applications for the Master in Public Health (MPH) and Master of Health Administration (MHA) programs for fall 2024. Full and part-time options are available. Classes are offered online (MHA) and in the evening, face-to-face (MPH). The deadline to apply has been extended through July 1st . LISVH VA Education Grant
Exciting opportunity for CNAs, LPNs and RNs who are enrolled in a Nursing Program! Join the LISVH team as a CNA, LPN or RN and apply for the VA Education Grant. LISVH will pay tuition, course related fees, uniform fees, book costs, initial NCLEX fee and initial licensing fee for individuals who have been accepted into the VA Grant Education program.
