Procurement Announcement: Important Change to NYS Fiscal Year End Information

There has been a change to NYS Fiscal Year End Processing. All State Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and Vouchers will be placed on HOLD on March 27th at 7pm. By April 3rd, holds will be lifted and processing will commence. Requisitions may still be submitted, but will not be released until holds are lifted. HEIRLOOM: Documentary Film Screening & Conversation with Filmmakers

Join us for a screening of HEIRLOOM, a documentary short about why Italian Americans still have a deep connection with gardening. Along the journey back to Italy, a family reconnects with their Italian roots and meets Isabella Rossellini, who founded Mama Farm (Long Island) to grow heirloom seeds. Text Analysis Fundamentals with Python

University Libraries Present: Qualitative data can be challenging to analyze and interpret effectively. In this workshop, SBU Libraries’ Data Literacies Lead, Ahmad Pratama will show you how to extract meaningful insights from textual data, including understanding sentiment trends. Learn to explore qualitative data with Python using word clouds, basic natural language processing (NLP) techniques, and lexicon-based sentiment analysis with VADER. Part of the College of Arts and Sciences Sir Run Run Shaw Lecture Series, this talk, featuring Shelley Minteer, Missouri University of Science and Technology, will discuss extensive studies and new materials designed for interfacing biocatalysts with electrode surfaces for applications in energy storage and electrification of the chemical industry.

Dr. Minteer is also the director of the NSF Center for Synthetic Organic Electrochemistry and recipient of numerous awards in her field.

The Department of Family, Population and Preventive Medicine presents a Cooking and Nutrition Workshop for kids ages 8-11. Kids will harvest produce directly from our rooftop farm and use the vegetables to prepare healthy and delicious recipes.
