About Cynthia Davidson

Cynthia Davidson is the Emerging Technologies Coordinator in Writing and Rhetoric and a Senior Lecturer in the College of Arts and Sciences at Stony Brook University. In 2015, she was the recipient of an S-BOLD grant for WOLFIE (Writers' Online Learning Forum and Information literacy Environment), a joint project between Writing and Rhetoric and the University Libraries. She has published in Computers and Composition Online, Science-Fiction Studies, and many poetry journals, and most recently has a chapter in Thinking Globally, Composing Locally Rethinking Online Writing in the Age of the Global Internet, edited by Rich Rice and Kirk St.Amant (U Press of Colorado, 2018).

Dr. Sofia’s latest publication is due out in Fall 2025 in Aeon’s online collection of essays. It discusses the writing of novelists Jerzy Kosinski and Georges Perec, as well as the memoir of philosopher Sarah Kofman. All three survived the Holocaust as Jewish children in hiding.
