Final Project
Industrial Noir
Noir is one of my favorite aesthetics. I find what I want to photograph moves towards this dark, mysterious style. Here, my goal was to create a flow of images, with a focus on a surreal and atmospheric tone. I focused on exploring lines as abstraction and color for creating feeling. Also, I wanted to create a story through this, even though it is vague, and left largely up to viewer interpretation. I wanted to create a somber, evil feeling, like this is some sort of villain’s building. Then ultimately, it ends in tragedy, whether it be the one who wandered in or a test subject. The overlay in the last image was to give the feeling that many have met this same fate here.
Some of my inspirations for this project include Alfred Hitchcock, David Lynch, and Alvin Langdon Coburn
