As you might know, I’m a baseball card collector. And even though it has nothing to do with colleges or the admissions process, I’d really like to recognize Kevin at The Great 1965 Topps Project, who has a great, great idea for a card set. Since retro sets are all the rage, and since Topps has murdered the classic 1952 design the last few years, why not design a rookie set with cards designed in the year of each player’s birth? Brilliant.
Growing up, I collected those sets of the 80s and 90s… and those would be the designs they’d be using. Why should I wait for Topps Heritage in 2032 or whatever? I want to enjoy these cards now. Get on it, Topps.

Just think of all the parallel inserts they could make of the players who lie about their age when they defect to the US to play ball!
