Below is my initial experiment with lassoing  out the statue and superimposing over a new background. The original photo was taken in upstate New York in a cemetery with mountain backgrounds but I thought it would be interesting to have the statue standing on a beach wth dark and moody clouds.

This second photo took a lot more effort because I had to mess around with the contrast a lot as well as individually cut each branch so that the statue would be in the background and the trees in the relative foreground. I also had to do a lot of work figuring out how to blend the statue so that it appears natural as if it’s always been there. Of course, however, the statue is superimposed and the original photo is just a photo of Kaaterskill Falls in upstate New York.

This is a photo of Building 93 at Kings Park Psychiatric Center. I achieved this glitch effect by removing various parts of the byte code of the image file, thus corrupting the image and creating the effect.
