Flight to Prudhoe Bay 2-21-22

Greetings!

Yesterday, Kris Hajny and I flew from Utqiagvik to Prudhoe Bay.  All I can say is that you shouldn’t underestimate man’s determination to suck every last bit of fossil fuel out of the Earth, unfortunately.  The first clip below is some views of the oil fields.

On the way back, just past the Barrow airport, we flew toward the Chukchi Sea.  “Normally”, it is ice covered, maybe with a lead just off the cost, beyond the shore-fast ice.  But not a wide area of open water.  See the video.
