We’re proud to congratulate our Research Scientist, Dr. Chengxue (Cheng) Li, for being honored with the Edward Hastings Memorial Award from NOAA’s Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC)!

This prestigious award honors non-federal employees who provide integral services to the NEFSC, demonstrating exceptional dedication, excellence in job performance, and significant contributions to the Center’s mission. Cheng was recognized for his leadership in developing an advanced management strategy evaluation (MSE) tool and advancing stock assessment methods, both of which have been applied across NEFSC, NMFS, and internationally, providing valuable insights for fisheries assessment and management.

New Doctor Alert!

We are proud to celebrate Robyn Linners successful defence of her doctoral dissertation “Evaluating The Drivers of Atlantic Cod (Gadus Morhua) Spatial Dynamics Under Altered Stock Stucture in a Changing Gulf of Maine”. This accomplishment marks years of dedicated research and reflects the highest standards of scholarship. Robyn is now the Lead Scientist on the Maine – New Hampshire Inshore Trawl Survey.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Linner on this tremendous achievement!
