The Chen-Wiegart Research Group at the Department of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering of Stony Brook University is a group of enthusiastic material scientists who are devoted to bring positive impacts to the society via our innovative research, dedication in education and passion to serve. We are specialized in using cutting-edge synchrotron X-ray characterization methods to understand the morphological, chemical and structural evolution of novel functional materials. With a range of materials processing and analysis tools, we are pushing the forefront of the materials research in metallic nano-structure, energy storage, additive manufacturing, surface treatment and cultural heritage.
