My vision of the future is where a high-speed railway connects all the states of the US. For all too long I’ve seen the plights of others online wishing they could travel across the country to visit loved ones whether they be friends or long-distance relationships. A high-speed railway or “bullet train” would open long distance travel between the states to a lot more people because it would be more affordable and more environmentally friendly than traveling by plane, however, with the sacrifice of having to wait longer to get where you need to go.

I work as a freelance graphic designer part-time so I wanted to work off what I know. All three compositions were made entirely in photoshop and only one object was a modified stock image; everything else was drawn from scratch with various references. The Logo is a play on the name “bullet train”, it illustrates a freeze-frame of a bullet’s slipstream but the red spaces in between the blue shapes help to portray the train itself (The first red space being the windshield of the train). For the color palette I wanted to stay with the true colors of the American Flag to emphasize the sense of nationalism. As for the different iterations, I didn’t want to change the image but the entire message of the advertisement, what audience it appeals to. The first one appeals to the emotion to those wanting to see their loved ones, the second appealing to those who want to save money, and the third appealing to environmentalists wanting to make less of an impact on the environment.
