Mariana’s paper published in Genome Biology and Evolution

Congratulations to Mariana Rius on the publication of a big chunk of her dissertation work! Very exciting to have this out. The fruit of long efforts supported by the Experimental Model Systems program of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and a wonderful collaboration with Josh Rest’s lab at SBU and John Archibald’s group at Dalhousie.

Congratulations to Dr. Kylie Langlois, Ph.D.!

Who did an amazing job defending her dissertation,

Ecology of nitrogen-removing microbial communities and applications to wastewater treatment

this past fall*, and will have lots of great papers coming out soon.

I’m eager to see what nifty postdoc opportunity she lines up, and where she goes from here.

*Yes, I am late with this (I’m sorry Kylie! better late than never, right?), and with other announcements I’ll try to catch up on, but let’s start with this one.
