Stony Brook Forecast: March 7th, 2020

Currently, there is a longwave trough at 500 hPa moving offshore of the eastern United States in place of a longwave ridge centered over the Midwest and covering most of the central US. This will allow for high pressure at the surface to dominate the weather at Stony Brook for the next few days, bringing clear skies during this time. Tonight’s temperatures will drop down to around 32F and winds will be from the north. This trend will continue on Sunday as flow shifts to the west, bringing warmer air to Stony Brook and allowing highs to rise to around 52F.
