Astigmatism
I have mild astigmatism. It’s when your eyes are more oblong than perfectly sphere, causing light to focus improperly. The uneven curvature of my cornea and lens makes my vision distorted and blurry.
I used to wear glasses, but they often left me frustrated because they were uncomfortable, slid off my nose, and gave me headaches. At times, they didn’t even improve my vision at all because my eyesight was worsening so steeply as my astigmatism developed.
I now wear RGP (rigid gas permeable) lenses that adjust the curvature of my cornea as I sleep. I take them off in the morning with a little plunger, and then without any lens in my eyes, I can see well.
