With smartphones constantly evolving, we should take into consideration the endless amount of possibilities a smartphone can upgrade into. 20 years ago, we were in awe by the first ever touch-screen cellular device, believing that such a technological advancement was seemingly too impossible to be a part of the present. #Daretoimagine allowed me to see how such an advancement can happen within 20 years.

My vision of the future includes the idea of smartphones becoming one of the most prominent tools in society. We have come to a point where almost everyone has a smartphone, and as a society, are constantly taking a step forward with technology. Therefore I believe that by 2037, we will be able to ease the process of craftsmanship and shipment by simulating pixels into matter through our smartphones.

Current trends show that people tend to shop online rather than in-store, especially with shipping and delivery available. What makes my image of the future better for us in that sense is that the smartphone will help shopping become even simpler and faster. With improvements happening every time a new smartphone is released, I believe in the idea of pixels forming into matter. Phones will be able to simulate and create items from images on your phone (like 3D printing but much more advanced). The flash from the smartphone will allow for the process of those pixels forming into matter and create what you want to buy online in a matter of minutes. Of course, the price of this process will be much more expensive. However, this idea will become the new “express shipping” for those who can not wait for their products to arrive within a day.
