This is the first few minutes of the documentary. Most shots have not been colored, and their are many clips that still need to be added. Please critique the content of my narration. I want to know if it is engaging enough, or if I should trim it down. My goal is to make the topic of film accessible while providing relevant context.

This is really cool, and I have to say you have a very soothing narration voice, I originally thought it was a recording. Your words seems to be engaging and do come off like one of those “how … works” videos with a twist of your own personal connection to the subject. Your transitions are good, and I think once the spots that are black are filled in it’ll flow even better than it already does.

I really like your work Daniel! I like how you used old cameras in a time where they have been pretty much forgotten. It is really interesting to see how you captured the images as well as your narration. I really liked your narration. It actually sounds like one of those documentaries you would find on netflix. Excellent work!

I really like what you’ve done so far! I especially like how you did the editing and narrating in your film. The voice sounds crispy clear and the transitions between each footage look smooth and professional. The best part is how you managed to use multiple cameras to shoot your scenes and it does make a very different effect on the audience’s eyes. I can’t wait to witness the premiere!

I really really love your work. Your narration, the clips, and the soft background music all blend together for a visually and audibly pleasing work. I absolutely think your narration is engaging enough, and I get vibes similar to those “how its made” videos. Overall, awesome job, – I wish I could take some pointers from you in my own editing.

I enjoy watching your video. I think your opening of the film is great as you add some color, especially the color separation to great a visual effect like people’s memories all have colors. I can’t wait to see your final work!

Wow! It was so cool to see your process on the Zoom meeting and hear you talk about the film process. It’s really a whole world I know very little about. Thank you so much for sharing the film reals of old movies you found from thrift stores to us. It really is a time capsule like you said. Really very cool stuff. Your draft video also has awesome shots that you took with your antiquated equipment. I am excited to see your final work.

Dan, your work always blows me away. The content of the narration felt sufficient, properly written, rehearsed, and well-recorded. It is very informative while maintaining interest and movement. I know you asked for the critiques to mainly focus on the content of narration, but the project as a whole is created masterfully. Viewing your work feels like watching a professional production. I love it!

Great use of voiceover in what I saw so far. You are fortunate that your interests align with your talents –you have a naturally engaging voice with great modulation. It wouldn’t hurt to look into doing voiceover work as a side hustle at some point, actually.
Your content is solid. It is an interesting topic which will teach almost everyone new information. You seem to be at a really great place with your project.

Your narration is informal and engaging. I like this idea a lot, and you can tell by the composition, cinematography, and work you’ve done, this is a subject you’re passionate about. You have an incredibly professional way of working and a work ethic that can be seen visibly in your own work. I’m eager to see the final result.
