Color Portraits Short Assignment
Sam by Dan (Click for larger image)
My composite image for Sam encompasses many aspects from our conversation. Sam mentioned his family would go to the Poconos a lot when he was younger and that they would stay in a blue house, which is represented by the background of this image. He also mentioned that he felt pink was a happy color and the pink flowers at the center of this image touch on that. Finally, he spoke about enjoying the serene greens and browns of nature and of hiking in the mountains.
Ailsa by Dan (Click for larger image)
I asked Ailsa about what colors mean in her culture and her answers were very interesting and enlightening. Colors that, here in the U.S., mean one thing, can mean something entirely different in her country. She also told me she’s studying Business Management and Studio Art. I thought this was such a unique combination and decided to focus on that. My image for Ailsa combines her two areas of study. The text and icons are business-oriented, while the color patterns add a touch of art and excitement to the image.
