Some of my most cherished early childhood memories are from bedtime. My mom would sometimes read stories to my brother and I, but more often would sing us to sleep. She had quite an array of lullabies her own mother sang to her as a little girl growing up in Peru, many of which had silly or nonsensical lyrics. Some of the songs were very calming, with sweet and thoughtful words. One in particular speaks of baby chicks, and how a mother hen tends to all of their needs. The song brings back good memories, and that is something that should be shared.
