Research Interests

My research focuses broadly on how adversity impacts people’s interpersonal relationships, with a focus on stigma related to sexual orientation and gender identity. In particular, I examine how trauma, violence, and discrimination may drive partners apart or bring them together as well as factors that may influence these processes. Secondarily, I am interested in how people approach romantic relationships, experiences of dating stress, and mental health. I also work with Dr. Dan O’Leary.
