Postdoctoral Fellow

Research Interests

Daphne Liu (she/her) is a clinical/research postdoctoral fellow at the Stony Brook University Consortium Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Her research centers around emotion regulation, psychopathology, and interpersonal relationships. Daphne is interested in how people regulate emotion on their own and in social contexts (interpersonal emotion regulation), as well as how these processes may go awry in psychopathology (e.g., major depressive disorder). Daphne is also interested in examining emotion regulation and psychopathology in the context of romantic relationships, such as how interpersonal emotion regulation between romantic partners is associated with individual and relationship outcomes. Besides pursuing these research interests, Daphne is collaborating with a global health research team at Emory University to conduct research on well-being of and mental health interventions for healthcare professionals in China. For more information, please visit her website.
