Research Interests

My research centers around barriers (e.g., biphobia, identity invisibility) to group belonging, relationship satisfaction, and mental health in bi+ (e.g., bisexual, pansexual, queer) populations. I am particularly interested in the perspectives of male-partnered bi+ women experiencing dual discrimination (i.e., those stigmatized in heteronormative spaces due to their bi+ identity, and simultaneously unwelcome in LGBTQIA+ spaces due to being in a “straight-passing” relationship). Additionally, I am interested in how romantic competence may develop and present differently for this population, and adapting interventions for both individual and relationship well-being to serve their unique circumstances.
