Bachelor of Arts degree as a Multidisciplinary Major, Stony Brook University; Expected May 2016

This major allows me to combine three separate majors, taking three disciplines’ classes and creating one degree out of them, it is relatively new at Stony Brook University. My three specializations are as follows…

Information Systems (ISE): Mainly Computer Science with more practical applications, and less theoretical course work.

Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS): I believe the best thing this discipline has done for me is teach me to critically think about a problem, any problem, and rationally and effectively gather information for a solution. It has helped me develop problem solving skills that are applicable across all walks of life.

Writing Studies (WRT):  The most important of the three as it pertains to my career, WRT has taught me to become a proper writing. It has helped me write for myself, for my work, and find my passion for writing material. I have gathered a stronger understanding on my abilities as a writer and how to hone and shape those abilities, drawing on them when needed. I have learned to write creatively, biographically, and professionally.
