I decided to do my Perception Studies project on color blindness after reflecting on the people in my life who are colorblind. Color blindness is a reduced ability to differentiate different colors. A more appropriate name for color blindness is color vision deficiency because only 0.00003% of the world’s population has monochromacy. Monochromacy is only having the ability to see the world and its colors in black and white. Most people around the world have trichromatic vision or “normal vision”. Around 1 in 12 men have some form of color blindness and 1 in 200 women have some form of color blindness.
