SB You: The First DoIT Labs Endeavor

WordPress logoIt is still under development, but SB You is a new service that promotes simple and professional Web publishing for faculty, staff, and students at Stony Brook University.

Built on the WordPress content management platform with hosting assistance from Edublogs, SB You makes digital expression easy. Shibboleth integration has been enabled so users Edublogs logowill be prompted to sign in to the service using their NetID.

The DoIT Labs team working on this project continues to tweak the service and is in the process of:

  • Developing, testing, and adding new themes
  • Enabling site-wide spam filtering
  • Creating a support structure and documentation
  • Exploring Creative Commons as an option for blog content
  • And plenty more …
Feel free to try it out with the full understanding that functionality may change unexpectedly, and there is no formal support in place just yet.
