FINAL PROJECT: FASHION MODEL PHOTOGRAPHY

PROJECT TITLE (Project 6: Final Projects Series): FASHION & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

I wanted these photographs imitating fashion & portrait photography by Richard Avedon. I wanted to specifically capture the model’s facial features and poses that are often constantly depicted in fashion photography: confident, relaxed, and sexy. Some of my photos will have my friend model imitate famous photos of models’ facial features and postures taken by past photographers. Some of my photos will have my friend model pose and do facial expressions spontaneously. Regardless, I wanted to capture how this specific type of photography can be rather identical or parallel in terms of expressions and postures.

METHODS AND MATERIALS:

Studio lighting, Photoshop, Color Gels, and a wonderful friend as model

Outcomes

At least 10 studio lighting photos utilizing high key lighting, use of color gels in some photos, at least three photos imitating past photos posture and/or facial expressions
