HUEMANITY
In all of my artwork, I’ve noticed two prominent features: people, and colors. The human figure and face are complex and interesting in my eyes, making portraiture a preference in all of my art. As for color, playing with the colors of a scene is one of my favorite things to do. I love to catch the eye with light and dark contrasts, complimentary color contrasts, and saturation contrasts. I considered how I could connect these themes in my final project, and concluded that not only would focusing on both color and the models be a focus on my own artistic style, it’s a focus on the models as people. The colors we love play a role in who we are, and so I asked before shooting which colors in the ROYGBIV and B&W spectrums the models each love. My results, as referenced in my project’s punny title, show the hues of humanity.
