1. Project Title : Growth

2. Project Description : When considering my focus for this final project I did come to some conflict. The conflict specifically centering on what this “focus” should be, prior to this project we were given strict guidelines and criteria as to what each and every task/project should focus on or include, but for this specific one we were left to determine and decide what we might what to photograph. After some some consideration i decided to focus on growth, growth specifically as it pertains to me and my career as a photographer. I recall the first day i received my camera with no clue as to how to operate it and take advantage of all its functionality. I seldom switched my settings away from manual mode. In addition i lacked the creativity and ability to capture the composition accurately and correctly. Now, 4 month later, I wont say I’ve perfected the craft but not only have i gained insight but Ive grown as a photographer. For this reason I plan to focus my final project on this growth capturing both my growth in creativity, as well as my growth in quality and composition of my pictures.

3. Outcomes :

–  Focus on my growth as a photographer, to visibly see my journey progressing from automatic to manual mode, as well as see the increase in both quality and creativity of my photographs

–  Provide a reference to look back from for the future to see how much ive grown from here.

–  Number of total pictures isn’t completely identified but it definitely will exceed the minimum(7)

4. Methods and Materials :

–  Production methods will include referring back/ including photos already taken with an additional few that were recently taken

–  No special equipment will be used save for those already “normally” used i.e. Camera, Photoshop, Lightroom and the Blog

5. References :

–  Peter Mckinnon

–  Matti Haapoja

–  (An Oldy)  Kohki Yamaguchi

I chose these 3 first 2 separate reasons. Peter and Matti are both professional photographers and videographers on Youtube whose content I consume a lot of and in “Youtube rewind” fashion they tend to call back throughout the year and revisit some of their work to see what they’ve learned throughout the year and where they can improve on as content creators, they also leave that video as a mark to refer back to for future references to then seen where they have grown from there. The 3rd period Kohki is another Youtuber and content creator i follow that speaks to the style and composition of photos i aspire to take, His representation is seen in the majority of the portraits I take.
