Week 11

This was basically our last class in which we went on a tour to the Humanities, Life Sciences, SBS and History SINC sites. The Humanities and Life Sciences SINC Sites had classes in them, so we did not get to explore them in their entirety. We finished off the tour in SBS, where we learned about Sparky with Nam.  Nam gave an introduction to the program and we proceeded to make our own site.  He taught us how to use the program, transfer files, and some basic HTML codes.  After doing everything through Notepad, he showed us Dreamweaver, which is far superior to using notepad.  I liked this class because I got to learn how to make my own site and by experimenting with it, I am significantly more comfortable with using it, whereas I was somewhat clueless on how to use it prior to this class.

With only a couple of weeks of classes left, the SINC Sites were really busy with people dealing with their last wave of midterms.  We also had our final presentation coming up so my mentors would ask me how that was going.  They also asked about various concerns I had with the final presentation in which they gave me many pointers on how to solve them.  For this week, Ryan sent out a questionnaire and some advice to becoming a Senior Consultant.  So my mentors and I went over the questionnaire and even the test pool questions.  Ryan’s questions helped to ensure that I had an understanding of basic, but necessary information.
