This was our last class, which was pretty bittersweet. I was really excited because I had already presented and the only thing left to do was for the last two groups to finish their presentations. Like all other groups, they were nervous but were able to fulfill their assignment properly and I feel like I was able to learn a lot about the TLT Media Lab/Teaching, Learning Lab and the Faculty Center/DoIT. Rose also made a small speech about how we’ve done for the semester and that the internship is constantly evolving. It was really interesting to be a part of this internship because it was my first one and I was able to learn so much. I was able to meet so many people in a professional and social way, and I increased my experience in customer service, particularly phone etiquette!!
As the last week of classes, this was also our last week of shadowing. I was able to learn a lot from my mentors and working with them makes me anticipate what it will be like to be an actual Senior Consultant. Since the Senior Consultant dinner was this week, the interns took their final test by subbing for Senior Consultants scheduled to work during the dinner. I worked as a regular consultant for a couple hours, but then I subbed for Steven for an hour in Main. It was really fun and interesting to be considered as the Senior Consultant. Pam even made us hosts on SB Connect! Many of us were worried about being by ourselves, but a lot of ended up being in Main at the same time and were able to help each other out. Thankfully there were no problems when I worked!
Great post! Your reflections on Week 14 are insightful and resonate with many of my own experiences.
