Tarot
My journey into spirituality has not been an easy one but it has taught me to release the fear of things that I cannot control and to trust in the universe. Tarot cards have provided a sense of comfort for me when I feel out of control, allowing me to recenter myself and my energy. Tarot, along with manifestation allows me to further understand myself and my intentions. My work focuses on self-portraits, as I like to reflect on myself and who I hope to become in my art. As well as creating to represent who I wish to become, creating self-portraits also allows me to acknowledge areas that I am struggling in, and push myself to correct them.
The Sun tarot, when pulled in an upright position, means positivity, fun, warmth, success, and vitality; all qualities that I have been trying to focus on.
The Lovers represents love, harmony, and relationships, which are some of the most important things in my life.
The Devil represents attachment and addiction; things that I wish to release.
By creating this work, I hope to manifest positivity and welcome good things into my life. Further, I want to create a feeling of familiarity for viewers of my work as if they are seeing a version of themselves looking back at them.
