I chose this photo by Brenda Ann Kenneally because it did not depict the typical happy family, it was more so based around lower class living standards. How someone else’s reality may not be the same as yours but, even so, still reality. It somewhat revealed the innocence of a child growing up in these conditions and that they do not have a say in how they are brought up, just as the parents may have not had a say in their circumstances either. I enjoyed this photo/essay because it had a raw factor that almost made it uncomfortable to look at and I believe that is a wonderful thing to be able to do as a photographer/artist. To be able to inflict some type of feeling or emotion upon your audience is usually the ultimate goal and that was done well here.
