Stony Brook Food Pantry

This non-profit organization exists on campus to help students in need by offering food, toiletries, and other sundries necessary for healthy living.  They subside off of donated goods and funds, so having a strong online presence and functioning database system is extremely important to them.  Through the power of The Boys we will make that system a reality.

Team Objective

Out of the three teams working with the food pantry, our team’s primary objective is creating a web portal and database to track and manage volunteer sign-ins.  The volunteers who run the food pantry are very important for maintaining the inventory and helping students find what they need.  Our team will streamline the process of clocking in and out, as well as tracking volunteer hours and donations.  We will be creating an online sign-in portal that’s easy to navigate to and use, which will upload volunteer hours directly into a subsequent database.
